Catholic Task Force on Africa Prepares for Synod Print E-mail

The Catholic Task Force on Africa (CTFA) has announced that it will continue its work of making the US Catholic Bishops' letter, "A Call to Solidarity with Africa," better known in dioceses and parishes. The CTFA has already produced a resource guide for Catholics interested in using the Bishops' letter. The resource guide can be dowloaded by clicking here .

Now, with the announcement of the upcoming Synod for Africa, foreseen for 2009, the CTFA is planning on organizing a year-long campaign called for now, "Together with Africa: Celebrating Hope."

Catholic Task Force on Africa: Mission Print E-mail

The Catholic Task Force on Africa (CTFA) was founded almost a decade ago as a coalition of Catholic religious communities and organizations seeking to analyze and influence U.S. policy toward Africa based on principles of Catholic social teaching.  It represents a collaborative effort to win Africa higher policy priority among U.S. government policymakers.  It is composed of a broad variety of Catholic institutions, from Catholic mission-sending congregations with personnel serving in Africa to U.S.-based advocacy groups, NGOs and the United States Catholic Conference.

A CTFA Resource Guide to Accompany the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops Statement "A Call to Solidarity with Africa"

The Catholic Task Force on Africa (CTFA) is pleased to offer a resource packet, entitled "Walking with the Peoples of Africa," which provides information and action suggestions on issues of major importance to Africa today.  It accompanies the U.S. Catholic Bishops' Statement, "A Call to Solidarity with Africa", that can be found on the Internet at U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.  We hope the CTFA resource packet serves to generate a better understanding of and more involvement in U.S. political and economic policies toward Africa.
