The best way to join AFJN in advocating for U.S. AIDS policies that more effectively assist people in Africa is to join our  eNetwork and receive timely updates and alerts. You can also check out our further resources page for more ideas. But other things you can do include:

  • Write a letter to your representatives in Congress from our website calling for more robust AIDS policies, or print out your own letters and send them in.
  • Write one letter to a drug company and ask them to provide affordable AIDS treatments to people in Africa (visit Doctors Without Borders to see the names and addresses of pharmaceutical companies and how they could improve their services).
  • Remember in your prayers or organize a prayer vigil for those living with HIV/AIDS, those orphaned by the disease, those who continue to deny its existence, and those working with the sick.
  • Invite an HIV+ speaker to your church or community to talk about the virus and its consequences, and have participants join one or more of these actions.
  • Hold a fundraising event for the advocacy work of AFJN or the HIV/AIDS relief work of Catholic Relief Services.
  • Hold a Poster Competition to encourage discussion and raise awareness about HIV and AIDS.
  • If you are a student, start a chapter of the Student Global AIDS Campaign.
