News
Wednesday, 07 June 2006
WASHINGTON D.C. – The Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN) will today deliver a petition to the U.S. President and key members of Congress demanding that they take the lead in ending the war in northern Uganda. The petition, signed by 8,744 Americans and distributed by AFJN’s Uganda-CAN campaign, calls on President Bush and the U.S. Congress to make ending the 20 year war in northern Uganda a priority.

In the letter, Ambassador Browning reflected on recent trips to the north, saying, "The horrors that these individuals faced are unimaginable; giving them back their lives and their hopes will require concerted and long-term effort." Download a Northern Uganda Action Packet and use it to write letters to the State Department demanding such effort today!
